Glen Motz named Associate Shadow Minister for Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness

Medicine Hat, AB – November 29, 2019 – Glen Motz, Member of Parliament for Medicine Hat- Cardston – Warner, was honoured to be named the Associate Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness as part of the 2019 Conservative Shadow Cabinet under Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer. MP Motz will be working with Shadow Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Pierre Paul-Hus.
“We have more Members than before and a strong team ready to push the Liberals on their regional and divisive politics – to work to help all Canadians get ahead,” said Glen Motz. “As the Associate Shadow Minister for Public Safety, I look forward to supporting Andrew and our Conservative team across the country, to support our law enforcement teams and make sure the Liberals put the safety and security of all Canadians ahead of their political games.”
“All Canadians deserve to feel safe in their homes and communities. The federal government’s response should be based on meeting public safety needs regardless of where you live. All Canadians expect their government to tackle real challenges facing community safety including gangs, illegal firearms, drugs, smuggling, border security, extremists and rural crime,” said Motz.
Glen Motz was elected in 2016 and re-elected in 2019. He brings a lifetime of experience to the file after serving with the Medicine Hat Police Service for 35 years.
“The Liberals spent the last four years ignoring returning terrorists to Canada, neglecting the protection of our borders, watering down criminal sentences, mismanaging the opioid crisis and only delivered funding for police to tackle gangs a month before the election. Canadians expect better – and frankly – deserve much better,” he said.
